There are many unique aspects to the Cracker Barrel dining experience.
For example, not too many restaurants offer comfy rocking chairs on their porches for customers waiting to be seated or to enjoy after a big homestyle meal.
And not too many have a loyalty program that reflects an original game created when the restaurant was founded over 50 years ago.
Cracker Barrel's loyalty program, Cracker Barrel Rewards, features 'pegs' as points and pays homage to the brand's peg game that landed on tables when Cracker Barrel opened its first country store in 1969.
The game, called Peg Solitaire, is played on a 15-hole triangle shaped board and players 'jump' pegs to remove them from the board.
Not only does every table offer the game, the brand sells more than half a million of the games each year and there's even a peg game app for the digitally inclined.
To join Cracker Barrel's loyalty reward program, members just need to sign up with an email and profile information and get a freebie just for joining.
New members get a barrel bite on the house — think country fried pickles, white cheddar cheese bites, hash brown casserole tots or biscuits beignets. You also get a free drink and a dessert on your birthday. Rewards must be redeemed within 30 days of enrollment.
Once you're a member you'll earn one peg for every dollar spent. In addition to the sign up freebie, members get a birthday freebie offer as well an anniversary gift, along with surprise offers through the year.
If at the restaurant, be sure to let the cashier know you're a rewards member or show them your member ID QR code found at the top of the rewards page. If you're using Mobile Pay be sure you're logged in to earn (even if you're coming from the app and signed in).
The more pegs earned, the bigger reward. For example, with 75 pegs you can get a side dish, drink or barrel bite. At 225 pegs you can get an entrée or a $15 off retail award.
There's also a bonus game offer opportunity where you spin for rewards.
Be aware there is a peg limit — you can't earn anymore once you have 500 pegs until you use some pegs during a purchase and there is a limit of five reward transaction per day.
Rewards members are limited to earning 5,000 pegs each calendar year.
Pegs can only be credited for purchases within the last 30 days and pegs cannot be earned on orders from third-party delivery services (Grubhub, DoorDash, etc.).
Also keep in mind pegs expire after one year from being earned.
You can keep track of rewards online as well on the restaurant's Google Play and App Store mobile apps.
And for those big fans who love the brand here are some unique stats and facts about Cracker Barrel:
